Do you remember me?. I recall going to your house on Main Street in the pre-teen years. Your house was right off Main Street and one door of your home was painted a bright color. You were "going steady" with Joey Sobel. You two, Jason, me, Alice Goldstein, Ilene Ebner, Aviva Stolarsky, and others I forget, used to play spin the bottle!. I also remember you had a tether ball set up in your backyard.
Great to hear from you. I did live down the block from Alice and then we bought a house on 78th Road and i lived down the block from you. My dad, Jerry still lives in the house. My mom dies 25 years ago. Don't know if you remember my sister Lynne, but she now lives in LA.
I mus say i remember playing spin the bottle in your house(i think it was the den) like it was just yesterday.
I remember playing with you and your sister Susan in your white bedroom and your housekeeper. We had fun!
Take care.
Shari
My father is doing really well and lives in Southhampton. My mother passed away at 75 years old about 4 years ago. They had visited us in Belgium and we come annually to the states.
I remember your father's illness and that you had a ramp installed for him to get upstairs. I was very saddened to hear of your mother's passing. Tell your kids that I remember her as a very elegant, intelligent, poised and thoughtful person. I remember her taking us driving in the pink cadilliac to that supermarket on Main Street. I remember being invited to eat over dinners by you. Your father had a very strong personality and I was so shy around him. They both had their European accents. Were they from Berlin? I guess your house got sold down the road like ours?
After Hillcrest which was even worse than Campbell's I went to Eastern Michigan University. After a year I decided to take a trip to Israel. Little did I know what the stars had planned for me! First I went to a kibbutz to learn Hebrew and work the land. I loved the sunshine and the people and the ocean. The I decided I'd dwelve a little bit into the Jewish heritage and went to study in a school for Jewish girls. Well, the place was breathtaking in Safed the north of Israel. Learning Kabalah was also eye opening in many ways.In short I took upon myself to become a practicing Jewess and got married shortly afterwards to a Belgian. He promised we would never live here!Ha-ha and here I am.
I'd love to see a picture of you and Susan. Somehow though it was a long, long time ago we were like sisters. So it's kind of nice to pick up the pieces and see how everyone turned out. Did you like my picture? I'll send some more when I can. I really haven't changed that much.
Joey Sobel came to Belgium to visit me about 18 years ago. He would send me presents when I gave birth and call me or write. I was very upset that he didn't tell me he was sick. My sister also thinks he passed away though I never heard anything from Fran. Wendy Feldman came to visit me as well in Belgium. She's divorced with 3 kids. She still lives in the old neighborhood and when I come to N.Y. we always get together.
Keep well
Alice
