In a nutshell, Danny got into accounting, and was working for a developer in their financial department. After the developer went bust, he and some others (including David Schwartz from PS 164), opened a forensic accounting company, and they did that for a number of years. Towards the end of the company's existence, Danny slipped on a sidewalk, and broke several vertebrae in his neck. After numerous operations, and lots of pain, Danny went on disability (at 80% of his salary-not bad at all) and stopped working. I think he was living in Westchester County somewhere. His name change came froma desire to sound less Jewish, and there were family issues involved as well (so he was disassociating himself from them in a sense).

Yes, that is Danny...and Gus Sawicki to my right. Danny changed his name to Daniel Lloyd-Forbes, and then he just started going by Daniel Forbes. Sadly, he died suddenly of a heart attack last year.

I see you wedged between Harvey Harris and Eric Belsky, right beneath Erica Rothberg, right? What were the names of the teachers? btw, in class, I believe I was seated in back right next to Philip Harchak. People used to mistake me for Philip pretty often.

No, I ddin't join PS 164 until Spring 1969, so I missed picture day . I can be seen first in 1970, class 4-4 (Mrs Finkelstein's and Ms Rohr's class) I am in the last row, in the center, wearing a bow tie and a huge grin.

As a matter of fact, yes, my hair was blond back then. However, you and I could only have crossed paths in the 2nd half of 3rd grade when I moved to Flushing from Elmhurst.

Whoa...split classes, that really must have been rough...especially kids at that age! I started teaching 7 years ago in a middle school and had 6th graders. It's a great age, but you have to keep them constantly engaged or else you've got classroom "management" issues! lol
