HI Leslie... I don't know if you remember me... it's only been 30 something years since PS 164. (I love that this site exists--soon we will be catching up with people from nursery school! ) So, I happened to see that you have had a career at Ogilvy and Mather. One of my first real jobs after college had been there!

I was always a musician playing in bands, and I had done some temping work, and got hired as a biller in Client Accouting. This was just prior to WPP buying O & M in the late 80's. After I had been hired as a Biller, they asked me to head up a "filing department" which had been created to organize all the client billing files. After the move to World Wide Plaza, in the new building, there was suddenly no area big enough for all these files to be held together--so back they went to much relieved billers. So I was without a job actually, but I stayed on the payroll doing exactly nothing for about three months. It was like the movie "Office Space." I would go to the movies and go shopping, hang out, and get my check. It was fun for a while but actually stressful after a while. When the take over happened, I was one of 60 people to go the first day, and I remember being so relieved! I really enjoyed my time there--and I wonder what would have happened if I actually had a job to do. I would have made a wonderful creative. Oh well...
