Hi Debbie (which is who you are in my memory -- sorry if you've outgrown it),

So funny you should have contacted me yesterday when I was at my daughter's elementary school graduation. As I watched her with her friends (so incredibly alive to the world and its possibilities), I realized how much I had forgotten the sturm und drang of being eleven. Still, I have clear memories of my own life at that time --made even more vivid by recently walking the halls of PS 164 and the streets of Kew Gardens Hills with Seum Chung and Peter Neumann. Another nice irony: not only did your email come on a day that I was absorbed in memory, but on the day that the Kodak corporation announced it was discontinuing making Kodachrome film (no more "nice bright colors").
