You have a good memory, it was my mom though and her name was Elaine. My sisters name is Donna. I was just on the phone with her and told her you wrote to me, she thought she remembered you having a sister named Marla? If my memory serves me correct, you lived on 141st Street?
Thanks for trying to arrange lunch between Howard and myself. I'm sure our paths will cross sometime in the future when its more convient for him.
Since you had mentioned how close in age our children are, I thought you might find it amusing to learn that my son is studying to be a Rabbi at Chofretz Chaim in Queens (76th Ave & 147th Street). Delaware just doesn't produce alot Rabbis, so when Robert turned 14 he attended a Yeshiva in Cherry Hill, NJ to pursue his dream.
My 17 year old daughter, Cayman, will begin college in 2010. She would like to study Forensic Science with an emphasis in Forensic Chemistry. We've been doing the college road trip campus tours this summer and she's leaning towards Waynesburg University, a small private institution in Western Pennsylvannia 50 miles from Pittsburgh.
My youngest daughter, Kiana, will be entering the 8th grade and hopes to be a nurse someday.
I believe in one of your postings, you had indicated, you were doing the college thing for your son. Has he decided? BTW, in the family photo he looks like his Uncle Howard only with shorter hair.
Enjoy the remaining few weeks of the summer and give my regards to Howard, Donna and your mom. Harold
Harold (Hesh) from across the street, 2nd house from the corner, 137-78 70th Rd. I was friends with your brother Howie, aka "Wild Howie". I remember your parents Elaine and Mickey, your dad's medallion yellow cabs, your sister Donna and the standard poodle named "Taffy".
I remember your family moving to Jewel Ave., circa the late '70's? My mom, now 81 yrs old, sold her house in 2005 and moved into a Co-op in Forest Hills. She's the Jewish mom version of the energizer bunny.
Whenever I'm in the old neighborhood, driving down Jewel, I look to see if your brother is still around. It's hard to forget a guy who surfs Far Rockaway in the winter!
My wife and I will be at the Woodstock Anniversary this weekend. On our way back to Delaware we're stopping at my mom's place. Let Howie know I'll be in the old neighborhood on Sunday. Tell him lunch is on me and to bring his appetite!
If he's interested, I'll let you know how he can contact me. Hope all is well, give my regards to your family. Harold
BTW, you look just like your mom.
