School Trips

The greatest school trips happened at PS 164. I think we were in the 5th grade with Mrs. Rohrs, actually Ms. Crusco at the time, and our class was taken to see Three on a Match. Vivian Strauss and Lonnie Moore were, I think, helping the celebrity panel. Fannie Flagg was the celeb that Vivian and Lonnie were with and Fannie was not the sharpest tool in the shed. (sorry Fannie).
I hope someone remembers this too. I think the prize for attending was some sort of candy for the class.
Ms. Crusco was able to get the TV and we were lucky enough to see our classmates on the TV screen. That was exciting!!
While sitting in the audience, we were sitting with Mrs. Miller. she was known to attend tons and tons of game shows. Later on I would remember that game show hosts would always comment that "Mrs. Miller was in the audience".

PS 164 class trips were great! The ones I remember most were visits to the United Nations and Museum of Natural History, our Blue Beret field trip to West Point and Bear Mountain, and visitng Mrs. Simon's house when we were in 3rd grade.

I remember all the excitement on the day of the trips and the bus rides there and back. (It was always fun to see what candy everyone brought for the ride!!)

I remember going to the Museum of Natural History each and every year-the Hayden Planetarium too.
I am always shocked to hear that other schools did not do that. I guess since we we pretty close to Manhattan it was considered a reasonable trip. I think we also did the bronx zoo annually. I treasure these memories. Also the UN!
