And a happy New Year to you. Just got back from visiting my kids in California - yes they are both there: Ethan in LA [UCLA grad school] and Erica in Santa Cruz [married with a 3 1/2 year old]. Had cance to vist with Cag Goldschmidt last evening. She looks terrific. It was a wonderful reunion.

Hope you and your family are well. My folks are in Coconut Creek for the winter. Health not good but minds sharp, which may not be a blessing.

Please send my regards to your folks

Hi Ann. I just saw your photos and thought I was looking at your mom. You look wonderful (as she always did). Looks like you, too, are in grandma heaven. My oldest son (of three) married a French woman and they just moved to the states last summer, along with Bethany (6) and Benjamin (4). They are with us in Rhinebeck for the time being and I have to pinch myself to believe they are really here. My other two are writing their dissertations 30 miles from here so here we shall remain.

Please keep me in the loop if you all get together. I would be so much fun to reconnect. Best regards to you. Amy

Hi, again. One more for 2008, since I realize I didn't answer some of your questions. I live about 30 miles north of San Diego near the SD Wild Animal Park (my wife does primate research there). I just (two days ago) did find Lloyd Haines...my only camp "hit". Don't know if you remember him. He was a tiny bit older. Anyhow, I had run into Lloyd (literally) in Berkeley one day in the mid-60s. I was doing the hippie thing, and he was entering law school there. We hung out together quite a bit at that time. So this google hit of him was a first contact since probably 1968. That's my only camp link. I really loved that place (camp, not Berkeley). Let me ask you what your reference to my mother and head-banging was about. I have very few memories of my youth and really wonder what I was like then (tho I have a decent sense of what my camp-self was like). When I think of you, a few things that come to mind are (1) my first romantic feelings (if that's what they are at age 13 or whatever); (2) you were, in my mind, the most graceful creature I'd ever seen; (3) you were 'together', i.e., you had a good, solid sense of who you were and were comfy with it; (4) you were smart in a very pragmatic way (or am I reading your career back into the kind of smart you were?); (5) you often fell for, but mostly tolerated, my efforts at humor. OK, I'll leave you alone now :-) Great to know you've thrived in your life!!

It's rather strange to have a conversation with people when you're, say, 12 or 14, and when you get to "...as I was saying...", they've retired! Camp To-loa's summers were easily my best memories of childhood.

Hi, Ann. I go by "Fritz" now (now = decades). When's the last time you visited PS 164? Where in PA did you live? I was in the central part of the state (Lewisburg) from about 1981-1992. Back in California ever since. I remember many moments of embarrassing myself in your presence. It seems like neither of us was permanently scarred.

Wow. I can't believe all these people have reconnected. How wonderful!!! I remember the first day I met you and walking to school with you your first day. I felt so proud and so glad to make a new friend. You were such a sweet kid. I've been married to a truly fabulous man for nearly 40 years and have three lovely sons, 33, 29 and 26 and two precious grandchildren. We live in Rhinebeck in the Hudson Valley and write children's books and do photography for the educational publishers. Retirement seems a long way off but at least we love what we do. I'd love to find Daisy and Carol and the girls 'down the block'. Will you try to come to the reunion. It would prompt us (Jane and myself) to be there. Best regards, Amy

Hi,
Some bad news from the neighborhood.
Lillian Colletti passed away Friday. She was at Sloan Kettering at the time. Her daughter Laura is in town. They are not going to sell the house!
Pass this along to all from 76 Ave.
This is sad news.
My parents bridge partners are gone now as well.

Hi Ann! Thank you so much for sending me the link. I just joined today. It's so touching -- perhaps in some ways too "touching" for me. I remember all your friends. I was happy to see how well Daisy is doing in New Mexico. Debbie and Liz Teitsman also seem to be doing well. I was sorry to learn of Carol's parents' passing. I can still visualize them. They were such nice people.
I wonder if you've heard from Carol Ornstein.
In any case, we'll talk soon. I'm hoping to see Tracy and family towards the end of October. I'll be giving a presentation in Baltimore then.
Love,
Robert
