I was bussed to PS173 for first/second grade. I attended third/fourth grade at PS164. Dad got another job & we moved to north Jersey where I finished high school. Two weeks later I moved to Florida (where my Dad's family is) and have been here ever since.

I remember Carol Kizzia from third grade: Her family went to Fort Lauderdale for (what was at that time called) Easter Break. She sat in front of me. I remember thinking how cool it was that she was so tan in April. I also remember sitting next to Eric Rabinowitz and wondering how hard it was for him to learn how to spell his name.

I am left-handed and the teacher (wish I could remember her name) wouldn't let me curl my hand over like many lefties do. I also remember learning Telephone Etiquette.

I had Mrs. Finkelstein for fourth grade. I am standing right in front of her in the class pic. I remember that I was invited to Susan Berman's birthday party and two things stood out for me: The guests were given small gifts which I thought was cool; and her parents had A/C in the bedroom so we all went and sat in the cool for awhile.

I also remember being in class during Jewish holidays just before the class picture was taken. We were working on some sort of yarn project and I went to the back of the room to get more yarn. On the way, I stepped on a pencil which rolled out from under and I went down. Cut my cheek under my eye. Poor Mrs. Finkelstein was so very upset. My mom came and got me and I had to get 2 stitches. You can see it in the class pic immediately beneath my right eye.
