Hi Diane-- Thanks for writing -- I hope one day we can meet up either on the east coast or the west! I haven't lived in NY since I was 21 -- only a few years ago :-) But my parents continued to live in the neighborhood so I frequently went back. Unfortunately, both of my parents passed away. We still get back to see family, and I sometimes have meetings that bring me to NY. We live in Maryland in a suburb of Washington, DC. I was originally an elementary school teacher, but for many years now have worked for a large research firm that specializes in survey research -- most of our work is for the federal government and I have been fortunate over the years to have worked on several large education and social welfare studies. Our two sons are grown and married and we have two little grandchildren. I adored Mrs. Bromberg and Mrs. Rosenberg as well as Mrs. Simon. Somewhere I have a collection of autographed photographs of opera singers from the 50's -- Mario del Monaco, Maria Callas, Richard Tucker, Rise Stevens, Lily Pons, etc. I believe it was Mrs. Rosenberg who inspired that collection. I still remember bird walks in Alley Pond Park led by Mrs. Rosenberg on Saturdays. The documents are of course also memorable and Mr. Karow was certainly passionate about education. We were all very fortunate. Do you have occasion to get to the DC area -- if so, would love to get together.

Hi Diane-- I remember you too very fondly -- so nice to be able to get back in touch after all these years. It's been years since I've been in touch with anyone from PS 164, but I remember most of the people you mention. I still remember the documents and the clubs -- especially the Glee Club productions -- great fun -- especially My Fair Lady and The King and I! There were also punchball games and lots of afternoons at Vleigh Place and Park Drive East parks.

Are there many members of the 1959 6th grade class who have signed up at this alumni site? It would be interesting to see if anyone I know has done so. Names I remember: Steve Tanaka, Danny Levy, Lynn Beyer, Neil Turk. It also would be interesting to see where everyone ended up geopgraphically. I'm in Northern Virginia. I wonder how widely dispersed the class has become all these years later.

We may have been classmates since I was in the 6th grade class of 1959. I think I had Mrs. Giordano as my teacher.
