Rock,

Great to hear from you. All is well. Dealing with state budget cuts is no fun for me at work, but what the heck. Had a meeting in DC last weekend so Lauri and the kids flew out and we spent five days as tourists. It was grand. Stayed in a nice place near Dupont Circle and took the metro everywhere. My older guy, Matt, left his job in Denver to try to catch on as a staffer on the hill, so we saw him everyday. Has some good opportunities with a few Senators and House members, but there are just a ton of people looking for jobs right now. I get to DC a lot, so will get more opportunities to see him (I'm back there in May and June).

Right now all Jayhawks are glued to the tournament. We are pretty young and inconsistent, so we could easily lose any game or make a long run. Will be hard to repeat the fun we had last year.

Softball starts soon, so I'm getting these old bones ready for another run. My goal is to play well into my nineties....

Say hey to everyone, and send me your personal e-mail address - the one I have keeps coming back to me.

Good to hear you are doing ok. i live in new jersey and have 2 kids. 1 in college, 1 graduated and married for 28 years. Remember Don Reichman, Rick Ginzberg my brother Mike? Don lives in N.J., Rick in kansas and my brother in california after 25 years in Colorado. Mitch had a very difficult year, he lives on the edge and was very close to homelessness and with some help is now in a NYC sponsored home oin Queens. He has had a very difficult time over the years, mainly because he never had a job and worked odd jobs getting paid in cash. I don't have the telephone number or address, but you can contaxt Don R. and he might have some more info. I am a big Mets, Jetrs, Giants, Rangers fan. What is up with you?

Rock,

Been a lot of activity and discussion about Mitch among several of us. Very sad story. Busy here but all is going well. Jesse Braverman and his wife stopped on their way back from a cross country trip -- nice to see him. I'm headed off to Rhode Island to give a talk in a few weeks and will see Howie for a few days. Lanny was here the week of Labor Day. Kids love him, got to see a KU football game and a Royals game with him. Matt is still working in politics for the Dems out of an office in Denver, but likely will head off to DC after the election some time...he could stay witht he same firm in Washington but I think he'll give up the kind of work he is doing to go back to directly working for someone on the Hill. It's something he really wants to do. You'll recall he already worked for Senator Salazaar part of a year in DC while he was at CU, and likely will try to use his contacts to do that sort of thing again.

Call sometime.

Rick

Hi Jeff. Thanks for your message, it was good to hear from you. I have been living in Las Vegas for about thirty five years. I don't remember a 16 inning scoreless stickball game with Larry Stone but we did have many epic battles. Does anyone know anything about Larry? I see Mike is living in Napa. It is a beautiful area and I hope all is well with him. Take care and say hi to anyone I might know.

I moved from Brooklyn to bergen county, N.J. 12 years ago. I am 6 miles from the GW bridge.Stu and I are doing a night & day baseball trip to baltimore and then back to Yankee stadium in june for our last game at the old park. The new yankee stadium is being built across the street and the outside looks like the old stadium but nicer. My daughter is 22 and graduated college last year and is working in a public relations company. My son is 20, goes to college in N.J. lifts weights, is short like me [5' 8'] and hangs out at the shore with his pals and various lady friends. My wife is from Queens and went to Queens College where I met her in a class. My brother lived in the Aspen for 25 years, got married at 43 [wife is a local NY area lady who lived in hawaii] and she talked him into moving to Napa, Cal. in 2005. A lot more boring than the rockies, so i see him once every year or so. He has one son, he is 9. Good speaking to you. if we can swing a get together it will be great. Don takes the train from NJ to NY and probably will make the trip. Stu retired from teaching, now hangs out with his dad in Queens and does not much of anytrhing. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
