Laura: I remember your name very well, but I think it is not actually from school, but from the neighborhood. We must have lived close to each other; I think maybe our parents knew each other. Do you remember Eileen Murphy? She lived in my building. She may have gone to Catholic school after a while, but started out at 164. Did you know Kip and Ed Ford, and their daughters Elizabeth (your age) and Susan (my age)? How about Horty and Eppy Epstein, and their kids Audrey (probably older than you) and Joel (in the class between us). Did you live in the development of garden apartments? I was in the courtyard opposite the kindergarten playground, on 138th street.
I am frustrated that I cannot remember better; hope you can clarify how we knew each other.

I recognized you immediately, you look the same as in our kindergarten class!Weirdly, I can still smell the paint on those craft items we made in that photo!Lots of fantastic memories...if you send me your email address maybe we can write more?

Laura, I thought I sent you a message, but I don't see it anywhere. I told Vivian about you contacting me and I hope she signs on to the site soon. I didn't remember the connection you had with Brown's Bungalow Colony and the Grossman's. We spent the summer of 60 there. The next summer I attended the YMCA Camp Wawayanda down the road. I was recently in Washington DC staring up at the words of Abraham Lincoln and knowing most of them by heart thanks to the education we received at PS 164. I'm very fond of old PS 164 and love visiting this site to see new members.

Thanks for the reply,I am now living in NJ with my wife Susan. The old neighborhood has changed a lot, I drive through when I get a chance. What brought you to CA?
The bungalow colony was subdivided in 1989 and is now summer homes.We were up in the area for Columbus weekend and went to see the fall colors.
I am glad to hear that Paul is doing well. My parents passedaway about 10 years ago. My sister lives near me in West Orange NJ . I will tell her about finding and contacting you through this web-site.
