About Me:: After many years as a public school teacher and administrator, I am currently an administrator in a private school in Westchester County. I love spending time with my family, especially my two grandsons.

I read your post in Dancing School/Vleigh Place and your reference to Susan Kupferber. I recently reconnected with Susan (I saw her name in a Volunteers for Israel newsletter - my son volunteered with them working on an army base in Israel.) Susan lived up the street from me and was friends with my sister, Jeane. I was friends with, and in the same grade, as her brother, Larry. Susan is interested in getting in touch you. I am sorry that it has taken so long to respond. I do remember you. I was one of the two girls with the same name. The other, Emily Rosen, was a sweet and beautiful girl, of whom I was very jealous. Life is good. Living on Long Island and retired after 35 years of teaching. Recently became a grandmother for the first time and enjoying this new stage of my life. Have been contacted about the 50th FHHS reunion. UGH! Take care and hope you are well.

Carol sadly died in 2001 of cancer. With no family left in the old neighborhood, and with us living in Denver, we rarely get back now.

I just went back to NY last June after last being there about 25 years ago. But not to the old neighborhood. I have mixed feelings about keeping my memories just the way they are. My parents were the original owners on 78th Ave in 1948 and we used to count how many still remained over the years. About 6 up to the time my parents moved to Florida in 1979. I'm happy you are still enjoying the jewelry you got from my father. I never thought about it before, but he had many customers who were also good friends and neighbors and relatives whose jewelry is still being worn and handed down to future generations. He was very proud of his diamond setting workmanship and the trust people had in him. Both my parents are gone now and Vivian lives in Chattanooga, TN. I told her about the site, she is class of 57 but, she is not as sentimental as I am. I'm very fond of our old elementary school 164 and always felt we got a great education there.
