Jerry
Walked around the neighborhood on Saturday morning around 10:30am. The neighborhood was very quiet. I walked in front of your house and Jerry's...but, No, I did not knock on your mom's door. I saw a nice dark blue Jag parked in the driveway...that must be yours. My house had been knocked down but not yet rebuilt, so there was a wooden fence/wall around the property. Same thing with Neil Z's house...very sad to not be able to see my house. The Reunion was fun and I am glad I decided to attend.
Does your mother still live in the same house from our days at PS 164?
Do you think I can knock on her door to say hi when I visit the old neighborhood for the Reunion? I plan to walk around that morning and reminisce and take pictures for my mother.
Are you going?
Yumiko
Glad to hear you are doing well in your present life. I think I was another one of the frozen few who went with you to see the Jets at Shea when Namath ruled the world. Please give my regards to your Mom. Have fond memories of all day games of Risk in your basement.
I owe you for that, bud.
What was the occasion?
I would not have recognized you but it could be the mustache that is in the way.
When I saw Neil Z. in '73, he told me that your hair was either long or in a pony tail (when you were in college, I guess)...true?
My daughter was just studying the Great Schism a few months ago and the topic just came up again on Saturday in the car with her and her friend. A good friend of mine belongs to the Eastern/Russian Orthodox Church and another friend is a Coptic Christian, and I often ask questions about their religion (I went to a Catholic school after I left NY so all this is very interesting to me.) I never thought about it, but you must belong to the Greek Orthodox Church then. You are going to have a great time. I would LOVE to hear your account when you get back. Have you been to Rome before?
As for David Jablon, was he a PS 164'er? I just asked Gordon, but no he doesn't know him. I will keep my ears and eyes open.
Have a safe and great trip!
