Sorry it's taken me three years to respond to this. Will tell Kathy you were a classmate! Sorry you won't be able to see our show. We got several rave reviews and close Oct. 6. If you change your mind, ask for the code STLM48 to get a 50% discount off the ticket! Thanks for writing to me. Karen
Yes, Kathy is my sister. We changed our name from Hoo back to Huie, our real surname. So good to know my father's restaurant was a hangout. My Dad is long gone but it warms me to see the Chinese restaurant he built is still a Chinese restaurant!
Hi Yumiko-- were we friends in Kindergarten? I think I went to your house--got scared because the chairs were on the table--your mother must have cleaned the floor so I went home and your mom brought my mom a cake. was that YOU? Abby Gilbert Budnick
Hi Yumiko
I remember you trying to hang out with your brother and Fred Zelinger me and a few others in the basement of your house and Fumio sending you upstairs.
I have emailed Fumio a couple of times. We were pretty close as young kids.
I am in San Diego and spend some tiem in New York. My son is 28 and is now working with my company in Lausanne Switzerland where I am going next week.
I have seen your next door neighbor= Rhona Lichtenberg a couple of times at Jamaica HS reunions.
Neil Zitofsky is still friendly with my brother Larry who has been in Seattle for 30 or so years.
Nice memories of PS 164 and growing up in Queens
hi yumiko - thanks for thinking about me and the tornado. it went through about 40 miles south in Springfield where i am often. also, you should 'friend' me on Facebook where i have posted many very good Kew Garden Hills images from the 60's - many taken with my Kodak Brownie. be interested to hear your comments. - peter
p.s. - i see from your class pictures you had Mrs. Goldberg for kindergarten - she hated me.
Hi Yumiko,
Thanks for your message. Hope all your family are safe too. I'm from Kobe, so my immediate family is OK, but the nuclear situation is not looking good. I am extremely concerned...btw, I live in Washington DC now (work) and will be for the foreseeable future. Please let me know if you plan to be on the east coast - would love to catch up.
Chisako
i just saw (missed last month) your comment on my posted Park Drive East Picture. yes, it is an excellent document. i have more as good - need to get a scanner (next month). please remind me by the end of June if i don't post some new images by then. -peter
