About Me:: I live in sunny California and have 2 kids in college. I've kept closely in touch with my best friends from P.S. 164, as we were known as the "Unholy Five" by Mrs. May and Mrs. Bromberg. (We chased boys in the school park on Jewish holidays.)
I will never forget "Glee Club" at P.S. 164 and how Karen Mintzer and I would count the minutes until rehearsals. Were we lucky to be the only elementary school performing Gilbert and Sullivan as 10-12 year olds with our favorite music teacher, Mrs. Farkas, or what?
Will never forget being in "IGC" and learning French in the second grade with Mrs. Berman. And how about reading the New York Times with Mrs. Bromberg every morning in 6th grade? Unbelievable.
I've even gotten together with George Joblove who always sat in the back of the room reading another Isaac Asimov book, and always knew the answer to everything. When I saw him he practically ran the George Lucas Special Effects Dept. in Northern California. He was lecturing at Paramount Studio when I was working there.
P.S. 164 friends and years, meant more to me than Jr, High, High School and College any day. We were lucky kids.

Hope life's been good and all is well with you. I don't know how i would have known, but i think i heard you moved to CA. Maybe someone my mother ran into. I've lived in Roslyn for 18 years. My son is a jr. at Cornell, my daughter is a senior in HS, and my youngest son is 10 --5th grade.
When i signed on and it asked for your 6th gr teacher, I blanked on the name so I dug out my little blue autograph book from 6th gr graduation and found a bunch of pictures in it. I haven't thought about ps 164 in a long time so this brought back a rush of memories! There's a couple of pix in my apartment with you, Judy Berk,Nancy Vermont, Kathy Farkas, Butch Rosenberg, Philip Grossman and Joey Kaso. I have pix from 6th grade graduation, bday parties and one of you, Fran Sobel, Lisa Wexler, Tina Ganz& Laurie Price wearing plaid skirts and berets. It triggered a memory of all of us doing a dance to a song about the constellations. Do you remember that or i am dreaming it??
I reenacted it for my daughter. I don't remember anything on a day to day basis, but i still remember part of the little jig and the song!! There's another picture of you, judy, nancy v, elyse rosansky, and barbara golann at a restaurant which i think our mothers took us to for 6th grade graduation lunch.
I have a box of mementos that my mother gave me when she moved out of her house. Leave it to Annette Ringler to save everything! I have the program from the Glee Club production of Sound of Music, and a program from Mrs. Blumes 3rd grade class play in five scenes called New York, New York. Do you remember it? We performed "Kids" from Bye Bye Birdie, and you and I were Night Club Entertainers in the Greenwich Village Night Club Scene. I remember being dressed as a beatnik, do you? I don't have a clue as to how you post all this on the site. Maybe my daughter could do it, or if you give me your address i'll send you copies. i'll give u my email address.
From reading your profile, i see you're still in touch with judy, kathy and nancy. How great is that! i look forward to saying hi to everyone and hearing back from you. Forty years is alot to catch up on, but fill me in on a little of it!
